CLUB SESSIONS
Our Club sessions are continuing to thrive.  Do come and join in.  The winter Club Sessions are:  SUNDAYS 1.30-3.30 and, if you’re free during the day or your work pattern allows, TUESDAYS 1.30-3.30.

COURT AVAILABILITY
Courts are available for play almost all the time.  But if you ever lose track of the exceptions, please remember that the regularly updated Courts Timetable is on the website: click here.

WIMBLEDON TICKETS
Have you opted in for the Wimbledon Ballot?  Our Club is a registered venue, and as a benefit of this, our members have access to Opt-In through their Advantage membership.  You can easily Opt In through your Advantage Home and the deadline to Opt In is Friday 4 February.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

VERY BEST WISHES to all our members, hoping you have a happy and tennis-filled New Year.  In spite of all the tribulations of 2021 the Club has been thriving ever since the courts were able to reopen, with membership at a record level and a great deal of much-enjoyed tennis being played, keeping us fit and active in our fortunately socially-distanced sport.

We’re delighted to say that new members are continuing to arrive even in these winter months.  A warm welcome to all, and with the Winter League in full swing don’t forget: if you’d like to join a squad and play team tennis (even just now and again) and are not yet involved, be sure to let us know.  You’ll be very welcome!  Simply email the Club at woodstocktennisclub@gmail.com.

COACHING (PRESENT?)

LEAGUE TENNIS
It’s been a great summer season for Woodstock, with our Mixed A and Mixed B teams winning their divisions, the Men’s Midweek team winning the league, and the Ladies A, Men’s A and Men’s C all promoted.  Our Ladies C were unlucky to miss out on promotion by a single point, and the Men’s D also came close. But regardless of results, thanks and well done to everyone who’s played in our teams this season, and good luck in the Winter League which is just about to start.  And don’t forget: if you’d like to join a squad and play team tennis (even just now and again) and are not yet involved, be sure to let us know.  You’ll be very welcome!  Simply drop us a line at woodstocktennisclub@gmail.com.

TEAM TENNIS
The Summer League is in its final stages.  It looks like being a fine season for Woodstock:  at the time of writing, seven of our eleven sides have a great chance of promotion.  Good luck to all our teams in their last round of matches!  (And well done to our Men’s Midweek team for winning the Midweek League for a third successive season.)

And maybe better than all of that is our inclusivity: only three clubs in Oxfordshire field more teams than Woodstock, and only three have more members involved in team tennis.  Brilliant.

We’re already looking ahead to the Winter League, which begins at the start of October, so if you’d like to join a squad and play team tennis (even just now and again) and are not yet involved, be sure to let us know.  You’ll be very welcome! 

ADULT AND JUNIOR COACHING

WEDNESDAYS, 1.30 – 2.30
Please note that, as in previous years, the Marlborough School will have a coaching session at the Club for an hour on Wednesdays, 1.30 to 2.30, starting on Wednesday 8 September.  In that hour the single court will still be available.  Before and after, of course, all four courts will be free for play as usual.

FAMILY FRIDAYS
Our popular ‘Family Fridays’ will restart in the new school term, beginning on Friday September 10th.  They’re a great chance for parents and children to meet and play tennis together from 4.30 to 5.30 each Friday.  With coaching input and games organised by Charlie Penton, they’ve been much enjoyed by all.  If you’d like to join in or would like more details, just drop a line to Jenny Collins at plunkett007@hotmail.com.

FAMILY FRIDAYS (4.30 – 5.30 pm, every Friday)
We’re pleased to announce the return of “Family Fridays” – a weekly social event for families to come together and have fun playing tennis.  The sessions are now up and running, and we’d like to encourage parents and their children to come together to keep fit with fun games on court.  Part of each session will be coach-led and include a variety of tennis drills and games.
