Junior Tennis Coaching
Coaching Programme: Juniors
Date added - 3 September
Our group coaching runs all the year round. Our Autumn programme begins at the start of the new school term. There are sessions designed for all ages and abilities. For all the details of dates, times and prices, click HERE.
To ensure we offer an outstanding coaching programme we always try to offer a maximum ratio of 1 coach to 8 players in our beginner pathway and 1 coach to 4 players in our performance pathway. Our team of coaches are all experienced and LTA qualified, with up-to-date DBS checks and first aid certificates. Woodstock Tennis Club also has a Safeguarding Welfare Officer - Jenny Royal Tel: 07944 145040.
We share good practice and discuss player development at regular team meetings. Parents are welcome to meet their child’s coach to discuss their progress during week 5 and week 10 of the coaching term. These are the best weeks to meet as they are our competition weeks. We follow our very own coaching curriculum to ensure successful player development. The results of this curriculum can be seen in the number of players now playing team tennis and involved in county training. The curriculum focuses on technical, tactical and mental aspects of tennis as well as a little strength and conditioning at the beginning of each session to help develop movement and athleticism.
We use all the correct equipment for every session and expect all players to be wearing appropriate clothing and footwear (no school uniform). We have changing rooms to change in if needed. Parents are responsible for their children until the start time of the lesson.
Members & Non-Members Fees
- Woodstock Tennis Club Junior membership is £40 per annum (April 1st – March 31st: £30 for new members joining after July 1st)
- Coaching rates for Club Members equate to £6 per session for outdoor sessions and £7.50 per session for indoor or floodlit sessions.
- Non-member coaching rates are an additional £3 per session
The start of the new term will give players the opportunity to receive coaching as either members or non-members. The benefits of being a Club Member are great, in particular the savings on coaching fees throughout the year, the ability to play on the club’s courts free of charge (juniors need to be supervised by an adult member), to join our very popular “Family Fridays” when children and parents can meet and play together after school on Fridays (part of each session in the summer being coach-supervised free of charge), and to represent the club in team tennis events.
We hope you will become and remain Club Members, as membership fees are crucial for the running of the club and support club development projects.
